LASER HAIR REMOVAL

LASER HAIR REMOVAL is a faster, gentler way to
remove unwanted hair, with great results.

How does Laser Hair Removal work?

Laser Hair Removal applies precisely controlled pulses of energy, reaching into the hair follicles that lie beneath the skin. The energy heats the hair, right down to the bottom of the root, destroying it without damaging surrounding tissue or skin.

How many treatments will I need?

Hair can be in one of three stages. One of the stages is called the ‘Active’ (Anagen) stage. At any give time, 15% to 20% of your hair will be in the Active stage. During a treatment, only the Active stage hair will be treated by the laser. This is why at least 6 treatments are required to cover most of the hair for the body part being treated.

What areas can be treated for Laser Hair Removal?

Laser Hair Removal can be done on any body part except for your eyelashes and head. Common areas include the face and neck, arms, underarms, back, chest, legs, bikini area, hands and feet. Full legs can take anywhere from 90 minutes to 2 hours the bikini area can take up to 30 minutes underarms or lips will take up to 15 minutes.

How do I prepare for the treatment?

Stay out of the sun or tanning beds or tanning lotions for at least 2 weeks before the treatment. Shave the area to be treated. Do not wax or use any creams to remove the hair before the treatment.

How long before I see results?

You will see some results immediately. It will take 1-2 weeks for all the hair in the treated area to fall off. The next batch of hair will then appear as they get into the active stage. As you progress through your treatments, you will see less and less hair re-growing.

Who will perform the procedure?

Our aesthetician, who has extensive training, will perform the procedure. Additionally, we have a physician on site who supervises the aesthetician.

What side effects does Laser Hair Removal have?

Most clients experience no side effects at all, though few exhibit some short-term local reddening of the surrounding skin. You can return to your regular activities immediately after treatment, although it is advisable to keep the skin protected from exposure to direct sunlight for at least 5 days.

What does Laser Hair Removal feel like?

Each pulse from the laser produces a slight tingling feeling. In particularly sensitive areas, it may feel like a quick, light pinch. The duration of each pulse is very short, in the micro-second range. Numbing cream may be used for the underarms and bikini area. This needs to be applied 30 minutes before the treatment and then wiped off right before the treatment. Numbing cream will be provided with the purchase of a 6 treatment package.

I’m pregnant can I still be treated?

While there is no evidence to suggest that pregnant women cannot be treated safely, it is our policy to not treat pregnant women without written permission from their obstetrician.
